ZB MED – Information Centre for Life Sciences invites to a virtual Software Carpentry Workshop. It will take place on 31 August and 1 September from 9 to 16 o’clock. It is aimed at researchers from the life sciences. During the two days they will learn about automation with the Unix shell, programming with Python and versioning with Git – knowledge that they can apply directly to their own research and that will make their work more efficient. No previous knowledge is required for the workshop.

After attending this workshop the researchers will be able to
1. automate repetitive tasks,
2. write small programs that can analyse your data,
3. keep a history of your research work,
4. work collaboratively on documents.
